Meals and More: Donations Needed

Dear Central Family,

I’m sending a special beginning-of-the-week e-mail to ask for help for Meals and More, our outreach event at Salvation Army.

What is Meals and More?  Our CommunityConnections ministry will serve a meal the Salvation Army Drop-in Center in Trenton this Saturday, September 28.  In addition, we will also hand out needed hygiene items.

How can I help?  We’re asking for donations on the following items:

~Toothbrushes and toothpaste

~Food (perishable and non-perishable)

When can I drop donations off?  Toothbrushes and toothpaste can be dropped off this week at the church on days and evenings when the building is open (during office hours, as well as Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings).  They can be left in the Fellowship Mall in the CommunityConnections bin or table.  They can also be dropped off this Saturday from 9 to 10 am in Allen Hall.

Food drop offs will also be on Saturday morning from 9 to 10 am in Allen Hall, unless items are non-perishable in which case they can be labeled for Meals and More and left in the Allen Hall kitchen during the week.

Are there other ways I can help?  Other ways that help might be needed are:

~Preparing part of the meal in advance

~Helping with setup at the Salvation Army or prepping food in the Central kitchen

~Coming with CommunityConnections to serve the meal and hand out donations.

Who do I contact?  To sign up or for more information, please contact Cathy Brown at tnc.brown@verizon.net or at 609-818-1480.

Thanks so much for “rolling up your sleeves”!  It’s definitely BETTER than being a spectator!
