Central's Pastoral E-Letter: July 27, 2012

Dear Central Family,

I hope you were with us this past Sunday as we concluded our Kids Camp Ewing!  The Worship Center rocked as children and parents worshipped together and celebrated who God is in a very exciting way! But the summer is not done!  Ministry opportunities are waiting ahead of us, so take a look!

This Sunday, we will continue our message series called Summer Concert Series which is on the 7 churches in the book of Revelation.  This week we will look at the church in Pergamum.  Check out what the Spirit has to say in Revelation 2:12-17, which are powerful words for all of us.  I will be teaching in the two Modern Services at 9:30 and 11:00 and Jared will be back in the Classic Service at 9:30 in Allen Hall.  Please note: Make sure you’re in the Worship Center in the first 5 minutes of the Modern Services or you will miss something everyone will be talking about!

On Sunday night, join us for our monthly Gospel Prayer and Worship service at 6 pm in the Fellowship Mall.  If you enjoy worship with a Gospel focus, you will love this intimate time of worship and prayer.  I look forward to it each month!

Kids Camp Trenton:  We are taking our Kids Camp to First Baptist Church in Trenton from August 13 to 17.  You can sign up this Sunday in the Fellowship Mall to be part of this team!  We have our team leaders, but now we need crew leaders and assistants.  We are once again planning on giving backpacks filled with school supplies to the children who attend this camp, so if you would take time to sign up to provide a backpack or supplies, we would greatly appreciate it.  We need to provide 100 backpacks filled with supplies to bless these kids.  Thanks for helping us out!

Finally, we are going to wrap up the summer with a baptism service on Sunday morning August 26.  So as you can see August may be around the corner, but ministry will continue full throttle as we move into the fall!

See you Sunday morning!

Central's Pastoral E-Letter: July 20, 2012

Dear Central Family,

What an exciting powerful week we have had at our Kids Camp this past week. Over 200 children have been impacted by the unchanging truth of the love of God found in Jesus Christ, and the sacrificial love of so many committed volunteer staff has made this a week of lasting impact.  Hope you will be able join us to experience it yourself this Sunday at 11:00 am as we invite all the children and parents to Kick it Old school as we finish Kids Camp Ewing with a bang!

So here is the scoop for this Sunday:

9:30 Classic Service

11:00 Modern Service

Finally, as I write this letter I am deeply saddened over the tragedy of the shooting that took place in Colorado.  I am m reminded of the depth of need inside the human heart that can only be met through the love of Christ… I am reminded of the importance of redeeming the time to reach people for Christ for the days are evil... and I ask you to pray for these families who have been impacted by this senseless act if violence.  Please pray that God's people will be able to effectively minister to these hurting families. Thank you for being vessels of God's comfort through your prayers.

See you Sunday!

Central's Pastoral E-Letter: July 13, 2012

Dear Central Family,

We are counting down the days until Kids Camp Ewing kicks off!  We are excited as our church building will be transformed into a concert venue for a few hundred kids and we are praying that lasting fruit will come as the kids learn about their Heavenly Father and His awesome plan for their lives!  You can still sign up using the website (www.worshipatcentral.org) until Sunday, then after that you will have to come early on Monday to register your kids, purchase a t-shirt, and become part of a concert they will not soon forget!  Help us get the word out, and please pray for God to pour out His Spirit in a powerful way so that kids commit their lives to Christ!

This Sunday we will be studying the church in Smyrna, the second church on our journey through Asia MinorPlease read Revelation 2:8-11 in preparation for this timely message.  I will be teaching in the two Modern Services at 9:30 and 11:00, and Jared Alcántara will be teaching in the 9:30 Classic Service. If you missed the message last week by Pastor Gilmer, you can sign up at the Welcome Center for a copy of the DVD.  I know you will be blessed!

So, put your flip flops on, and come out to our Summer Concert Series as we tour real cities, with real people, and real problems and learn a real message of hope that we can all relate to!

See you Sunday morning!

Central's Pastoral E-Letter: July 6, 2012

Dear Central Family,

The Bus is leaving!

The tour begins this Sunday as we begin an awesome new series for the summer that is definitely going to sizzle!  We have called it our Summer Concert Series as we take a tour through Asia Minor and study together the significant and impactful letters to the 7 Churches of Revelation.  What does Jesus have to say to all of us?  These are real letters written to real people with real issues that we can all relate to.

So the first part of our journey starts this Sunday at 9:30 and 11:00.  John Kennedy, one of our well known LifeGroup leaders who is known for teaching with clarity, will be teaching in the Classic Service and Pastor Gilmer will be teaching in the 9:30 and 11:00 Modern services.  Take a few moments and read Revelation 2:1-7 to acquaint yourself with this powerful letter, then come in your casual summer clothes and begin the tour with us!

A few things coming up that you need to be aware of:

1.       To register for Kids Camp Ewing, you can go to the website www.worshipatcentral.org and click on the link and sign your kids up as we Kick it Old School!  Get the word out!  We are depending on you telling your friends and neighbors as we had to take down our sign that was advertising the Camp out front due to zoning restrictions (many of you have asked).  Thanks for your help!

2.       This Thursday there is going to be a special opportunity for you to hear the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and Pastor Jim Cymbala in Concert for FREE!  A special Delaware County Prayer service is going to be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia at 7pm.  More info available at www.acts413.net

3.       We have made online giving easier than ever!  Just go the church website www.worshipatcentral.org, register to be part of our All Church Directory with Fellowship One, and click on the link that says donate online.  I did it for the first time this past week and it is so much easier than before, and with summer travel coming up, this is a great opportunity for you to continue your faithfulness in your stewardship.  Check it out!

Finally, I ask all of you to please pray for the next ten days for the World Changers team of youth and adults who left very early this morning to head for Limestone County, Alabama as they partner with the folks at the Alabama Disaster Relief Organization to do tornado relief work there.  Please pray for safe travel, team unity, safety at the job sites, and for their protection in the extreme heat as they minister to those in need.

Stay cool!  Hope you will be with us this Sunday!
