Central's Pastoral E-Letter: March 30, 2012

Dear Central Family,

What a powerful Sunday of worship we all encountered last week as we began our new series RED LETTER DAY!  I am looking forward to preaching this Sunday in the Contemporary Services at 9:30 and 11:00 and Jared will be doing so in the Classic service at 9:30.  We will be examining another statement of Christ, “Today you will be with me in paradise!”  What a powerful statement that causes all of us to ask some important questions.  The final week before the cross was a week that separated those who were fans and those who were followers.  I know you will be impacted this Sunday and I hope you will be with us.

I also hope that you will pick up an invite card to invite your friends to come with you to one of our 6 Easter weekend services!  Starting on Good Friday, with a powerful contemplative service put together by our classic choir and rolling into Saturday night and Sunday morning, we have a number of options for you to choose from.  Check the schedule out below and take the time to invite your friends to come with you.  We were putting the final touches on each service this past week and I can’t wait to see what God is going to do, but we need you to plan to come and bring someone with you. I promise you  will not be disappointed.

Central's Pastoral E-Letter: March 23, 2012

Dear Central Family,

Sunday is coming and I hope you are going to be with us at Central this Sunday!

We kick off a new 2 part Series we have called RED LETTER DAY!  We are going to look at some of the last words that Christ gave when he was on the cross.  I am overwhelmed with gratitude as I have been studying what Christ said to all of us before he willingly sacrificed himself for our deliverance!  What a Savior!  This Sunday I will be preaching in the 9:30 Classic Service and Jared will be preaching in the 9:30 and 11:00 Contemporary Services.  I hope you will be with us as we are so looking for God to touch us as we reflect in preparation for Easter weekend!

Speaking of Easter, be sure and pick up an invite card this Sunday and give it to someone to invite them to come with you for one of our 6 Weekend services.  Starting with Good Friday and ending on Easter Sunday, we are going to lift the roof with worship and praise to our Lord.  So take the step and go for it!

Central's Pastoral E-Letter: March 16, 2012

Dear Central Family,

This is going to be a special weekend! Many of our women will be away on a retreat and we know they are going to be blessed! We have also planned a special Sunday for everyone else! We have invited Dr. Cleophus J. LaRue to preach in our Contemporary Worship Services.  Dr. LaRue is a nationally known preacher, professor at Princeton Theological Seminary, and author of six books on the power of preaching.  He will be speaking to all of us but with a special message to men! So guys...get the kids up...bring them to our kids programs and be prepared to be encouraged.  If you attend the Classic Service you will be challenged by Bryan Bunagan, who will be speaking at that service.

I also hope you will pick up an Easter invite card to invite your friends to one of our six Easter weekend services...it is going to be powerful!

See you Sunday!

Central's Pastoral E-Letter: March 9, 2012

Dear Central Family,

What a beautiful week to enjoy what God has created! Loving this weather!

Last Sunday, was an encouraging time as our leaders met to examine the priorities that the elders have set for the next three years of ministry.  I have attached a pdf of that roadmap and I hope that you will take the time to look at this and see why we are excited about the future.  We will be discussing this more in detail in a series of messages in May, but for now, take some time to check out the attached, and you will be fully up to speed as to where we are going and how we are prayerfully seeking to get there.

I also want to let you know we made 2 special announcements regarding our Pastoral staff.  This past fall, Jeremy Bell met with the elders to discuss his future ministry here at Central as his current appointment as Pastor of Worship and Student Ministries would be ending as of June 30 this year. Based on Jeremy’s passions and his gifts and also after meeting with the elders, I wanted to let you know that the elders are proposing that Jeremy Bell be appointed as Pastor of Worship and Mission.  This position will be voted on by the congregation and would be effective July 1.  As Pastor of Worship and Mission he will oversee not only our worship venues, but also our local and global mission outreach ministries.

Ever since taking on the Pastor of Worship position (first on an interim basis, and all this time along with the Student Ministries role), Jeremy has shown a passion to put together services that would reach our church family in a meaningful, memorable, and culturally relevant way.  I have heard many comments about how weekly our services are impacting people’s lives, and I am excited as to how this will continue under Jeremy’s leadership as well as the energy he will bring to our local and global outreaches.  He is a man of God who has a passion for God and to connect people with God and His mission.

With Jeremy stepping down from Pastor of Student Ministries, we are excited to be able to announce that the elders are recommending that the congregation appoint Bryan Bunagan as Pastor of Student Ministries.  Bryan has served in our Student ministries for a number of years and is currently on part time staff as Director of Student Ministries. He is a recent graduate of Philadelphia Biblical University and has a passion to see students reached and disciple for the kingdom.  He has been working side by side with Jeremy and the student leaders and we know that this will be a good transition for our students and leaders.

In order for these appointments to take place, we wanted to let you know of our planned schedule of meetings in preparation for a congregational vote

Parents’ Meeting

Thursday, April 19 at 7 pm

Town Hall Meeting

Finally, I hope you are going to be with us this Sunday!  We will be finishing our series RESISTANCE on the life of Joseph, and we are going to examine the hardest lesson to learn as a follower of Christ. I know you will be encouraged and challenged whether you come and worship at the 9:30 or 11:00 Contemporary Services, where I will be preaching, or at the 9:30 Classic Service where Jared Alcántara will be preaching.

See you Sunday!

Central's Pastoral E-Letter: March 2, 2012

Dear Central Family,

I am really looking forward to this weekend, and wanted to take a moment to shoot this email to you to remind you to make plans to be with us.

We will continue our series RESISTANCE, and we will be looking at the account where Joseph is in prison and is in a situation that could cause any of us to wonder what in the world God is doing!  I want to encourage you to invite anyone you know who is in need of encouragement to join you in one of our three worship services this Sunday!  We will be focusing in on what to do and where to turn when we feel like God has abandoned us?  So ask God to show you someone you can invite and take the time to invite them to come with you.  Jared Alcántara will be preaching in the 9:30 Classic Service and I will be preaching in the 9:30 and 11:00 Contemporary Services.  We will be celebrating Communion together and once again have planned some special moments in the service to connect you with what God has to say to our hearts.

One last reminder that this Sunday night at 6 pm we will be gathering together for an All Church Leadership Summit to hear what God has placed on the Elders and staff hearts as our priorities for the next three years. If you serve in any way in our ministry, we want to invite you to come to this night of worship, inspiration, and information as we together unite behind what God has for us.  Child care will be provided for children birth-5th grade.  I hope you will plan to be part of this, as we are also going to be making some exciting announcements that you will want to hear first hand.

Gotta go!  See you Sunday!

Pastor Gay
