Dear Central Family,

I hope you are going to be with us this Palm Sunday as we kick off Holy Week and our preparation to remember what Christ did for all of us!

This Sunday, I will be finishing my series Organic Evangelism as we examine one of the most important yet often neglected tools that God has given all of us to reach our friends for Christ.  I will be speaking in both the 9:30 and 11:15 services, and hope you will join me.

I have asked Jared Alcántara to speak in the 9:45 Classic Service.  Jared has served in pastorates in both Massachusetts and Oregon and is currently a PhD student at Princeton Seminary.  I have enjoyed getting to know Jared and his wife Jen as they have been attending Central the past few months and have participated in some different ministries.  I know you will be blessed if you attend the 9:45 service, as Jared brings a message focused on the meaning of Christ’s Palm Sunday Entrance into our lives.

I almost forgot,  we will also be baptizing 2 people in the 11:15 Service this Sunday, so that will add even more excitement to the morning!

A few special notes about this Holy Week:

1.       No prayer meeting on Wednesday night, but we will meet on Thursday night at 7:30 for a special night of worship, communion, and quiet contemplation on the journey of Christ to the cross.

2.       We will have 3 services on Easter Sunday morning.  I will be speaking at all three, so I hope you are planning on bringing your friends with you to either our 9:30, 9:45, or 11:15 Services.  It is going to be a powerful day of Worship and Celebration!

Finally, come check out Central’s new online bookstore at www.centralchristianbookstore.com!  I invite you to browse the many resources available on the site.  You’ll also see a section called “Pastor’s Pick” where I highlight a book recommendation or two from the current message series.

See you Sunday!

Spring is getting closer!  And after the weather we had last weekend, I am so happy to feel spring in the air!

I know that many of our families were hit very hard by the flooding last weekend, and I encourage you to lift them up in your prayers. To all the women who were on the retreat last weekend, I am thanking God for how He spoke to hearts, and want you to know that you were greatly missed!

I hope that you will be with us this Sunday for one of our three services!  I will be speaking at the 9:30 and 11:15 services in the Worship Center, and Pastor Gilmer will be speaking at the 9:45 Classic Service in Allen Hall.  We will be continuing our study of Ephesians 6 as we learn about the armor that God has provided to equip all of us to be the witnesses He calls us to be.  I am so thankful that God always gives us what we need to do what He calls us to do.

I also want to let you know of some special things that are coming up at Central!

Sunday, April 4

EASTER SUNDAY!

Three Services:  9:30, 9:45, 11:15

I will be speaking live at all three services with a special drama at the 9:30 and 11:15 services designed to reach your friends with the good news of Christ and His resurrection.

Sunday, April 11

New Message Series:  Reel Faith

I will be starting a new message series in the 9:30 and 11:15 services designed with your friends in mind.  I am calling it Reel Faith as we examine the message of 3 popular films—Up, Avatar, and The Blind Side—from a Biblical frame of reference.  Each service is being crafted so you can bring your seeking friends to be exposed to uplifting worship, a clear gospel presentation, and a challenge from God’s word to reach them where they are.  We will have a guest speaker in the 9:45 services each week.  April is going to be an exciting month!

See you Sunday!

Did you know that 91 women will be going on a retreat at Sandy Cove this weekend?

Did you know that God continues to bless this ministry through lives being impacted each week and being turned around for his glory?

Did you know that we had 20 adults at our Newcomer’s Lunch last Sunday afternoon, and we had the opportunity to share what God is doing at Central and to challenge them to consider being a part of His mission for this area through this church?

Did you know that we hired a new Sunday Children’s Ministry Director, Joseline Capre, who is filled with joy and energy to impact our kids for Christ in new and refreshing ways?

Did you know that we are now offering 3 Sunday morning Worship Services each week, including a new classic worship service in Allen Hall at 9:45, that is reaching new people who desire to worship in a traditional setting?

Did you know that we are getting ready to launch the website for our new online Christian Bookstore where you will be able to buy Christian resources at a discount, and part of the profits will go into the ministry to help us keep reaching people for Christ?

Did you know that Easter is just a few weeks away and we are planning 3 dynamic services that will exalt Christ, and where I will be preaching live at all three services?  How, you say?  Come and find out!

Did you know that this weekend is Daylight Savings Time?  And all God’s people said, UGH! Make sure you set your clocks forward one hour, so you are not late for one of our services.  We are going to be here, and I hope you will also.

See you Sunday!

9:45  Classic Service: Pastor Richard Gay (meets in Allen Hall)

11:15 Currents Service: Pastor Richard Gay

Join us as we examine the battle in the heavenlies!  We will be studying Spiritual Warfare and how it affects our being an organic witness!

This Sunday after the 11:15 Worship Service, all members are asked to plan to attend our Business Meeting. I will give a brief update on the results of the church survey and action points we are taking after hearing from you the congregation.  We will also be voting on the 2010 Budget.

Looking forward to this Sunday!

A Grateful Pastor

P.S. I will be making a special announcement at all three services.  See you then!
