Central's Pastoral E-Letter: January 22, 2010

Dear Central Family,

We want to hear from you!

This Sunday we have set aside time in our worship services to give you a chance as a church family to give us feedback on the overall health of our ministry.  We have engaged the services of a consultant to create a survey that will allow you to help us evaluate our overall ministry including our worship services.  We know that there have been many changes since we moved into the worship center and we want to make sure we are getting an adequate picture of your concerns.  So please plan to be here on Sunday morning as this survey will help our leaders make plans for the future.  If for some reason you cannot be here on Sunday, the survey will be available on the website and here at the church office beginning next week and up until the following Sunday (January 31) as well.  Thank you for your interest and response.

I also want to remind you that we are going to be taking a special offering this Sunday to help our brothers and sisters in Haiti.  We are asking everyone to consider giving above what they normally give to the ministry here at home and give a one-time sacrificial gift to reach out and show the love of Christ to those who are hurting so severely.  There is also a link for this at our website which permits you to give directly to Missions Door outreach to Haiti.

Finally, the response to the memory verse cards has been very encouraging.  Check out the link on our home page to get your set.  I know they will help you as you grow in Christ.

God bless you!

Central's Pastoral E-Letter: January 15, 2010

Dear Central Family,

I hope that you are enjoying your new year with our Lord!  We certainly had an awesome time of worship and celebration last Sunday, and Central was overflowing with joy!  Between individuals being baptized, new members being received, and commissioning of our newest World Impact Team members Bill and Gina Laky to Spain, we all were rejoicing in what God is doing in our church!

I hope that you are planning on being here this Sunday as we continue our Get Inked Series, and examine Psalm 119:9-16.  I hope you will take time to read this section of this powerful psalm as we examine the power to purity!  This section is filled with practical words of challenge for all of us, and I am looking forward to what God is going to say to all of us! During the 9:30 service we will also be saying thank you to Andy and Lori Stuckey for their faithful ministry these past years in our Classic Worship Services.  We will have a special cake in the Fellowship Mall, so either come to the first service or come early for the second so you can say thank you for a job well done!

I also want to make sure that you are planning on being present next Sunday, January 24, as we will be conducting a full church health survey.  We will be investing time in our worship services to hear from you the congregation so we as leaders can evaluate our ministry and seek to fulfill the mission God has given to us.  This is your chance to get your voice heard, so please make plans to be here.  If for some reason you cannot be here on the 24th, we will have surveys available both online at our website and in person here on the 31st.  Thanks for investing the time to help us out.

I know that we are all devastated by the events this past week in Haiti.  I have been in touch with the Figaro and Nelson families who have family in Port-au-Prince.  When I last connected with them, they have made contact with their parents but are still waiting to hear about extended family.  We are planning to take a love offering on January 24 for the Haiti Crisis that will go to our sister mission organization, Open Door, which is ministering in Haiti.  Thank you for all your heartfelt love, concern, and prayers.

That’s it for now!  Got to get back to my studies.  I am looking forward to sharing what God has been saying to me through His Word as we allow Scripture to imprint itself on our hearts!

See you Sunday!

Get Inked - 2009-01-03 Message Series.jpg

Dear Central Family,

We kicked off the message series Get Inked this past Sunday, and based on the number of black thumbprints, many of you made a commitment to consistently imprint the word of God on your heart on a daily basis!  For those who were not here, you will see the visual in the worship center which displays this commitment.

I also encouraged all of you to check out an awesome site to help you with your own tailored Bible reading plan. www.youversion.com  is the site I am using as I am reading through the New Testament and the Epistles this first part of the new year, and I am loving it!  Check it out, then let me know what reading plan you are doing.

This Sunday we will dig into Psalm 119:1-8.  I encourage you to do 2 things:

1.       Read this passage before Sunday morning, as it is filled with great truths about the power of the Living Word of God!

2.       Bring your Bible with you and join us for one of our two worship services on Sunday morning.

In addition to the message, we will have a Celebration of Baptism during the 9:30 service.  Also, we will be sending out Bill and Gina Laky as members of our World impact Team as they prepare for their mission in Spain.  Oh, and I almost forgot: we will be welcoming new members to our church family!  As you can see, this Sunday we will witness the power of God to change and impact lives.

I know that I am looking forward to what God is going to do, and I look forward to seeing you!
