Central's Pastoral E-Letter: Friday, November 8, 2013

Dear Central Family,

Greetings from Ohio where we are on a tour of colleges in the Midwest!  My daughter Lydia and I are having a wonderful time checking out great schools and also reconnecting with family and friends.

Join us at Central this weekend as we continue the series TOO BUSY NOT TO PRAY where we examine and study The Lord’s Prayer.  Pastor Anthony Gilmer will be teaching in the Saturday night service at 6 pm and both Sunday Modern Services at 9:30 and 11:00.  Tim Loesch will be teaching in the Classic and Unplugged services.

Few Notes:

~ TONIGHT at 7 pm is Women’s Night Out!  Enjoy an evening of comedy and refreshments with Christian comedian Amy Barnes from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Childcare is available up to 5th grade.

~ GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays on Friday, November 15 is a warm, encouraging, and helpful seminar to help you deal with the intense pain of grief during the holiday season. Join us at 7:00 pm in Central Hall where I will be hosting with event along with Susan Localio who leads the GriefShare group at Central.  For more information on the seminar, visit griefshare.org/holidays

~ The next Men’s Breakfast is on Saturday, November 16 at 8 am.  The men’s speaker will be Helmut M. Hensel, president and founder of Ironworks Taekwondo Academy which help kids and young adults reach their full potential through sports, mentoring and personal development.

~ We will be having a Believer’s Baptism next Sunday, November 17th during both Sunday Modern Services.  If you would like to take this next step as a believer, please contact Pastor Anthony Gilmer at agilmer@cbcnj.orgTake the plunge… the water’s just fine!

~ Are you ready to go all in? The Junior High Retreat will be in Ocean City, MD from November 22 to 24.  Cost is $130. For more information, contact Pastor Bryan Bunagan at bbunagan@cbcnj.org.

~ Please join us for Central’s Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday, November 24 at 6 pm. Cost is $4 per person and $20 max per family. Children 3 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the table in the Fellowship Mall or you can go to this THIS LINK and use your Fellowship One log-in.  (If you do not have a log-in, you can create one).

Finally, thank you for your continued prayers for our family as we wait for a liver donor for Kim’s dad.  As I mentioned last week, Kim’s sister Arlene is not able to be a donor, but now Kim’s other sister Mary is currently being tested to see if she can be a match.  Thank you all so much for your love, prayers, support, and encouragement.  It means a great deal.

God bless you all!

Pastor Gay
