Dear Central Family, It’s October and we are kicking off a new series that I am really pumped about! We are calling it GHOST STORIES, and we are going to dive into the Scriptures and what they have to teach us about the Holy Spirit. We are going to learn how He is the resource and power that we all need every moment of every day. It is going to be powerful! So be sure and come to one of our five worship services this weekend and learn about the person and power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Our Teaching Pastor Jared Alcántara will be teaching on Saturday night and in both Modern Services on Sunday and I will be teaching in the Classic and Unplugged services. Few other notes: ~ Tomorrow (Saturday), October 5 is Ewing Community Day at TCNJ! Come on by and encourage our team who will be reaching out to our community that we are a church who cares and is here to serve. Feel free to stop by between 10 am to 4 pm. ~ There is still time to join a LifeGroup! Don’t miss out on getting connected! For a list of groups, click here. ~ Registration is ongoing for the Men’s Retreat! The retreat will be held on October 18 to 20 at Sandy Cove Conference Center in North East, Maryland and the weekend’s theme is “The Cure: What if God isn’t who you think He is and neither are you?” For more details visit the table in Fellowship Mall or e-mail Pastor Anthony Gilmer at agilmer@cbcnj.org. ~ The Women’s Expo is coming up on Saturday, October 12 from 10am to 12 noon. Come and explore the exciting events that the Women’s Ministry has planned for the 2013-2014 year! There will also be mini-workshops and giveaways. Child care will be provided. If you would like to be baptized and can’t make the orientation, please e-mail Pastor Anthony Gilmer at agilmer@cbcnj.org ~ The church will be leaving the building again for Meals and More on Saturday, October 26th to serve our neighbors in Trenton. We need a few more people to sign up to bring some food and to help prep at Central. Also, there are still baby bottles that you can fill with spare change to benefit ChoiceOne and we still have many tickets people can take to buy supplies for Preservation House welcome baskets. Stop by the table in the Fellowship Mall to find out how you can help through your donations or your time. You can also e-mail Toni Campbell at singsong40@hotmail.com. ~ Finally, we are super excited about our Christmas outreach! We are doing a presentation of the timeless classic The Christmas Carol. There is still time to sign up for auditions or to get involved in this powerful outreach that we will be presenting the weekend before Christmas. Stop by the table in the Fellowship Mall or e-mail Brian Cavanaugh at qadosh.kyrie@gmail.com. Enjoy the fall weather and see you this weekend. You won’t want to miss it! Pastor Gay |
