Central's Pastoral E-Letter: Friday, August 23, 2013

Dear Central,

We have experienced an outstanding week of Kids Camp at Trenton!  We are so thankful for all the volunteer staff who worked so hard on this week of outreach and who worked tirelessly for this to be an effective and exciting presentation of the love of God for the children of Trenton!  A week like this reminds us of the importance of reaching children with the gospel and the power that is exhibited when everyone is reaching toward one goal.  Thank you for your prayers and your donations of backpacks and supplies – the kids were blessed because of your obedience!

Speaking of Trenton, we are looking for volunteers for Monday, August 26 at 6 pm to help finish up the work started at Grant Elementary School from Central Cares Day.  With school on the horizon, we’d like to finish up the work started there before the new year begins.  We can use more people to help with some painting, so if you can volunteer or if you have any questions, please contact Toni Campbell at cc@cbcnj.org.  The group will be meeting in the Grant School parking lot (159 N Clinton Avenue in Trenton) at 6 pm on Monday.

Bowling Night is next Wednesday, August 28!  It will be held at Colonial Lanes in Lawrenceville from 6 to 8 pm.  The cost is $12 per person for bowling, laser tag, two slices of pizza, and soda.  Everyone is welcome!  Please note that advance registration with payment is required for this event, so please go to this link to register.  You can also register at the Fellowship Mall this Sunday between services.  Questions?  Please contact Jonathan Uy at jon@uyfamily.com

The Men’s Retreat is coming up on October 18-20 and registration is open!  The retreat will be held at Sandy Cove Conference Center in North East, Maryland and weekend’s theme is “The Cure: What if God isn’t who you think He is and neither are you?”  For more details on the retreat, go to Sandy Cove’s page.  To register, go to this link or stop by the Men’s Ministry table at the Fellowship Mall this Sunday.  If you have any questions, please e-mail Pastor Anthony Gilmer at agilmer@cbcnj.org.

This weekend, we will be talking about a topic that is applicable to all of us – WORRY, and what does the King have to say to all of us about this important timely subject.  I will be teaching in the Saturday night and both Modern Services on Sunday at 9:30 and 11:00.  Pastor Anthony Gilmer will be teaching in the Classic and Unplugged services.  We are both looking forward to sharing with you this practical teaching from the lips of our King!

See you this weekend!

Pastor Gay
