Pastor's Musings: Central's Pastoral E-Letter: July 12, 2013

Dear Central Family,

Peace at any cost? Is that a Biblical way to live? Or how about ignoring conflict just to keep the peace—is that a godly, Christ-honoring response? These are tough questions and questions we are going to seek to answer as we continue our series Forgotten Virtues this weekend. I will be teaching on Saturday night at 6 pm and Sunday at both Modern Services at 9:30 and 11:00. I am looking forward to being back in the pulpit this weekend! I am also excited to tell you that Jared Alcántara, our Teaching Pastor, will be back after a bit of a leave due to the birth of his beautiful third daughter and will be teaching in the 9:30 Classic and 11:00 Unplugged services. This is a topic that we all wrestle with, and I think you will be surprised at how clearly Jesus gives us directions for skillful living. Hope you will be with us!

KIDS CAMP is coming up on July 22 to 26! Pick up some Kingdom Rock Kids Camp invite cards and give them out to the kids in your neighborhood. It is going to be week of ROYAL FUN!

Few reminders:

~Register your children for Kids Camp! The registration link is below. The deadline for online registration is next Wednesday, July 17. You can still register your children as walk-ins on Monday, July 22 starting at 6 pm, but it would help us plan for the event if you register online by July 17 or at the Kids Camp table this Saturday night or Sunday morning.

~We still need Kids Camp food donations for snacks during the week. Please sign up at the Kids Camp table.

~This year’s Kids Camp theme is Kingdom Rock, which is a medieval theme. Do you have any costumes, fabric, or medieval items that we can borrow? Please e-mail Stephanie Earle at searle@cbcnj.org.

~For parents who are dropping off kids, we are offering a special Parenting Seminar during Kids Camp and is designed for the parents’ own enrichment and training. You can pick up a flyer at the Kids Camp table in the Fellowship Mall. Each night we will be hosting a special guest speaker who will deal with an important area of training your kids to make a difference in the world we live. My wife Kim and I will be hosting this special seminar and hope you will get the word out to your friends and neighbors. Space is limited, but you can register by just emailing me at dgay@cbcnj.org

Finally, the World Changers team left this morning to minister in Knoxville, Tennessee. They will return on Monday, July 22. Please pray for their safety as they travel and work and also for opportunities to share Christ.
