Proverbs 25 New Living Translation (NLT) These are more proverbs of Solomon, collected by the advisers of King Hezekiah of Judah. 2 It is God’s privilege to conceal things 3 No one can comprehend the height of heaven, the depth of the earth, 4 Remove the impurities from silver, 6 Don’t demand an audience with the king Just because you’ve seen something, 9 When arguing with your neighbor, 11 Timely advice is lovely, 12 To one who listens, valid criticism 13 Trustworthy messengers refresh like snow in summer. 14 A person who promises a gift but doesn’t give it 15 Patience can persuade a prince, 16 Do you like honey? 17 Don’t visit your neighbors too often, 18 Telling lies about others 19 Putting confidence in an unreliable person in times of trouble 20 Singing cheerful songs to a person with a heavy heart 21 If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. 23 As surely as a north wind brings rain, 24 It’s better to live alone in the corner of an attic 25 Good news from far away 26 If the godly give in to the wicked, 27 It’s not good to eat too much honey, 28 A person without self-control REFLECTION Lord, I want to be a person of humility as Christ displayed humility in placing our needs ahead of His own. Teach me today to be content with who You made me to be and where You have placed me to serve You. May I know that You don’t make mistakes and You will give me the grace to fill whatever You have called me to do. May I be Your humble servant and choose to exalt others today and not myself, trusting You know my heart. ----- |
