Proverbs 18 New Living Translation (NLT) Unfriendly people care only about themselves; 2 Fools have no interest in understanding; 3 Doing wrong leads to disgrace, 4 Wise words are like deep waters; 5 It is not right to acquit the guilty 6 Fools’ words get them into constant quarrels; 7 The mouths of fools are their ruin; 8 Rumors are dainty morsels 9 A lazy person is as bad as 10 The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; 11 The rich think of their wealth as a strong defense; 12 Haughtiness goes before destruction; 13 Spouting off before listening to the facts 14 The human spirit can endure a sick body, 15 Intelligent people are always ready to learn. 16 Giving a gift can open doors; 17 The first to speak in court sounds right— 18 Flipping a coin can end arguments; 19 An offended friend is harder to win back than a fortified city. 20 Wise words satisfy like a good meal; 21 The tongue can bring death or life; 22 The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, 23 The poor plead for mercy; 24 There are “friends” who destroy each other, REFLECTION Lord, thank You for being my Strong Tower that I can run to at all times. I can come to You for wisdom, understanding, grace, strength, peace, and guidance, and You always give it to me if I just ask for it! May I be reminded that no matter what foes may be coming against me that YOU will always be my safe place. Thank You for that. I rejoice that You are my Strong Tower and I will never be disappointed in You! ----- |
