CBC Pastoral E-Letter: January 22, 2009

Dear CBC Family and Friends,

I hope that you are planning on being with us this Sunday!  It’s going to be a special Sunday that will long be talked about!

First, we will continue to focus on our new message series, Connecting in Community.  I am thankful for Pastor Gilmer stepping up and hitting one out of the park last Sunday with me being home sick with no voice!  Well, I’m back and looking forward to sharing with you what God has been teaching me about this important subject as we examine a rarely looked-at passage on this subject.  Intrigued?  I hope so, and I hope to see you on Sunday morning.  We will also be viewing a video of 4 women in our church who were recently baptized.  You will hear their testimonies which I know will be an encouragement to you.  Finally, in the morning services we will be welcoming 12 new members to our congregation.  Please plan to be here so you can welcome them aboard our team.

We will conclude this big day of celebration with a Fellowship Dinner at 6 pm followed by our annual business meeting.  We have a lot to be thankful for that God did in us and through us and we will do just that on Sunday night.  If you haven’t yet registered for the dinner, you can go to this link to sign up.

Sunday is going to be a big day and I hope you can be here.  And by the way, if you missed Pastor Gilmer’s message last Sunday due to the holiday, contact the church office and order a DVD. I watched the service this past week and God blessed my socks off!  I know He will do the same for you.

God bless you, and see you Sunday!

Pastor

CBC Pastoral E-Letter: January 15, 2009

Dear CBC Family,

I hope that you were able to be with us this past Sunday for our State of the Church Message. We had a wonderful Sunday in which we focused on our vision and what God has done in our church this past year.

I know that the weather may have held some of you back from attending, so if you missed the service, you can contact our office for a DVD of the message. I know you will be encouraged and excited as we look forward with anticipation to what God is going to do in 2009.

You will also want to know about the changes in our worship schedule once we enter our new facility this spring. The brochure with all the information is available on our website (ww.cbcnj.org) or you can pick up a copy at the church.

I hope that you will be with us this Sunday! I know it is a holiday weekend, but we are going to be starting a new message series that focuses on community, and I am very excited about it. I shared on Sunday that as we grow larger we must grow smaller, and you are going to be hearing of specific ways that you can make this a reality. This week we are going to look at the main reason we need each other: Life is TOUGH!

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday!

Your grateful pastor!

Starting 2009, I will be sending e-letters periodically to the Central Baptist Church congregation, which I will also post on this blog.

Dear CBC family,

Well, the Christmas tree is put away, the decorations are stored for another year, and I am looking forward to this new year!

I hope that you are planning on being present this Sunday as I share a State of the Church message in all of our worship services. We will conclude each service with a celebration of Communion as we thank God for what He has done and look forward to what He is going to do in and through us.

I will be sharing highlights of this past year, goals for the new year, as well as plans for a new worship service schedule that will be put in place once we move into the new worship center this spring. The staff have been working very hard in putting this presentation together and I know you will be encouraged by the new opportunities that God will give us with this new schedule.

So plan to worship and to celebrate what God has done and look forward with great anticipation to what He will do through all of us.

See you Sunday!

Pastor

What does God expect?

It's a question that needs to be on all of our minds as we enter 2009. What does God require of me? There are so many demands on our lives, family, job, ministry, relationships, but if you sum it all up, what does God want? Check out Micah 6:8, you will find a simple clear answer to the question that we should all be asking, and Happy New Year!
