Reflections as I prepare for Sunday

As I look back on all that God has done over the past years at CBC I just fall on my knees and cry Holy Holy Holy! Today is Celebration Sunday, and we are going to stand back and watch what God is going to do through His people. We will praise Him for the commitments made by everyone who calls Central home, as we see the construction going on all around us. Even though that is very exciting and causes my heart to skip a beat, that is not what is causing the overwhelming sense of awe. It is the lives that we continue to see changed every week through the power of the Spirit, it is the depth of love that this congregation has for each other and for our community. It is the privilege of fulfilling His assignment in serving here. Holy, Holy Holy!

Hi Pastor Gay

Here is the link about Christianity in the military -- I had the story backwards a bit -- an athesist is suing the military.
Was just some interesting comments about Christianity and the military.

Revelation 4:8 in part reads...

Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come."

Pastor Gay--

I love responding to your "musings" and as I read yesterdays, my heart rested on one point, by this I mean I was made to stop and meditate on it for a moment...

HOLY...HOLY...HOLY

Pastor,I will try to make sense of what I wish to share with you and all who may read your musings or thoughts, I guess you might say I read between the lines and connected what you wrote to a Biblical truth God was also saying thru you for our (CBC) sake.

Looking to Rev 4:8; Here are my thoughts...(I love the Word of God)

HOLY...God the Father, HOLY...God the Son, HOLY...God the Spirit, the verse continues; is the Lord God Almighty. It seems there is a "HOLY" cried out for each person of our triune God; God in three persons, you could say a summation of all that He is...

Then, following Holy, Holy, Holy, the Bible states a POWERFUL truth about our God (REV 4:8) and Pastor Gay, you state the same truth and regard His POWER and PRESENCE in what you wrote.(I LOVE THIS STUFF!! ;))

...who WAS...and IS...and IS TO COME

WHO WAS...Pastor you mentioned that "as you look back on all that God has done over the years at CBC"; I am sure you are going back to before you even came to CBC...we see the pictures...we have heard the stories...we have members who were here in Sunday day school as tots and now head ministry...and; in fact, I wouldn't be at CBC if it wasn't for God working in this church thru a bookstore outreach some 30 years ago and my mom came and she remembered CBC when we were looking for a home church...* This is GOD WHO WAS.

AND IS...Pastor you mentioned, "today IS Celebration Sunday...we ARE GOING to WATCH what God IS going to do...We will praise Him for COMMITTMENTS MADE by everyone who calls CBC home...WE SEE the construction GOING ON...IS exciting and CAUSES my heart to skip a beat...*this is GOD WHO IS.

IS TO COME...Pastor, last you mentioned...the lives that we CONTINUE TO SEE changed EVERYDAY...privilege of FULFILLING HIS ASSIGNMENT...These are future things happening everyday and the result, effect, impact; however you want to say it, will continue for all eternity as people come to know Christ thru CBC, sooo...*this is GOD WHO IS TO COME...I think it is better said in my favorite hymn, well one of my favorites...

Holy! Holy! Holy! Lord God Almighty
which WERT and ART and EVERMORE SHALL BE...meaning forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever...................

I CAN"T WAIT!! CAN YOU??

I love this Pastor, pretty cool
