This has been an awesome week! Pastor Gilmer started on staff as our Pastor of Spiritual Development and has already made great contributions. It is a lot of fun to have him on our team, and I cant wait to see what God will do through him.
We had our leadership commitment event last evening, where many of our leaders stepped out and made their faith promise commitments for the building of our facility. Great spirit in the evening, and alot of fun. Looking forward to Celebration Sunday when the body as a whole will step forward with their commitments. These are always stretching times for my faith as well as we step out and trust God on this thing we call a faith journey.

Hi Pastor and others--
What an incredible presence Pastor Gilmer brings to Central Baptist Church.
I praise the Lord for the gentle reminder He recently presented to me as I took an afternoon walk with Him; the Lord that is. I thought at first that He was calling me to walk with Him and pray and as I prepared myself to come before Him in prayer, He quieted my spirit, that is to say shushed my spirit as He wanted to speak to me. He gently spoke to me about how I no longer walked with Him as I used to everyday to pray yes, but mainly to recieve instruction from Him. He informed me I was slipping in my call to pray. So I came to the Wednesday night prayer meeting...
I said all that to say this; Wednesday night prayer meeting was not the same as I remember it being. IT WAS SPIRIT LED!! We weren't just tossing words around and tacking "in Jesus' Name" on the end to make God hear it, no, no, no my friends, we prayed in the Spirit and Pastor Gay, you are right in saying that Pastor Gilmer has already made contributions, as for me I can only speak of my own experiences. When he prayed the room became filled with responses to his prayer; spontaneous HALLELUJAHS and PRAISES and THANK YOU LORDS. It was experiencing God in prayer which is not new to me...I was just so glad to see the room filled up with the Holy Spirit. I wasn't ready to leave when it was over!!! ;)
YES Pastor, the beginning of something really good is taking root at Central. I am so excited at the desire mentioned and "presented" for us to become a house of prayer.
You know something...we prayed in such a way that we just wait now...IN EXPECTATION!!
Thank-you Father...Thank-you!
Libby
AMEN, and AMEN!
