The privilege of being mentored

Spent some time today, (change that, invested time) with a mentor, I thank God for the way that He has brought men into my life who know when to ask the tough questions and when to give words of encouragement. I am thankful for having someone like that in my life and I left that lunch today, thankful for having an Apostle Paul in my life.

Hi Everybody--

Pastor--

First, I am so glad to hear that you had an opportunity to meet with your mentor and that you regard it as time well "invested" and not just time well spent; (especially since it was only just Sunday that you preached about how we should use our time! YUK YUK YUK)

Where would we be without those the Lord has given (us) as mentors. I have been mentored by several and have been given sound spiritual advice, been encouraged and yes, at times, a reprimand but I can't say that I have a mentor as you speak of. Boy oh boy would that be nice!!

I am mentor to several and it is a great feeling to know that you have made a difference in someone's life (spiritual) and what's really neat is that I mentor others the way people have mentored me.

It was very rewarding to hear one of my "sisters" say to me that she appreciated that I never gave up on her and especially that I never let up. It is tough to say to someone that “you are sinning” or “you need to ask God to forgive you and repent”. It is not easy being Nathan.

I think I am going to ask the Lord to provide me with a mentor. One who would regard themselves as responsible for my spiritual well being and would contact me to see how I am doing in my walk, ministry, prayer, devotions etc.

You can also rest assured that a mentor is going to keep you held up in prayer. Nothing like knowing "you're covered"

God's provision is an amazing thing and the best is yet to come!!

by the way Pastor, what did you have for lunch?:)
